People always underestimate the power of good chiropractors.  Most chiropractic offices are filled to the brim with older people who are looking to keep moving for an extra couple of years.  In reality, the office of a good chiro should be filled with everyday people.  People like you and me.  You guys know who I am.  We should be the people going to getting realigned on a monthly basis.  The number of healthy hormones that get released when you get a good chiropractic treatment is amazing for your body.

How often do I need Chiropractic Treatment?

I see the chiropractor once a month.  I started seeing my local chiropractor after an injury and decided to keep seeing him.  I just feel better after working with my doctor, chiropractic doctor that is.  You can learn all about his certifications, expertise and more, just click here for his chiropractic website.  His name is Dr. Jared and he’s an excellent chiropractor.  He uses the cox technique to elongate the spine and fix back pain.  There are people all over Connecticut and across the country with serious back pain.  Often times the way they deal with the terrible pain that they are in is pain killers.

Little do they know but the pain killers only mask the pain.  People think that taking pills will reduce the inflammation, but in reality, all it does is address a symptom of a much larger problem.  The key is to uncover the root cause of the pain and that’s what chiropractors are known for being able to do.  A good chiro will be able to figure out exactly what the problem is and address it with a serious of techniques including:

  • Cox Technique
  • Cracking your back
  • Massage Therapy
  • Active Release Technique
  • Stim
  • Whole Body Vibration
  • etc

Fitness Tip: Intermittent Fasting Works

Don’t Eat – What?

Seriously, don’t eat for 16 hours.  Intermittent Fasting works very well for a number of things.  One of those things is weight loss.  The other one of those things is health.  Fasting is excellent for improving your overall health.  The amazing thing is that your health can be improved by not eating.  Ordinarily you’d think that the only way to be healthier is to eat healthy food to exercise more often.  We all know how much you dread going to the gym anyways.  We’ll leave that topic up for discussion in future blog posts.

So.. How Do I Fast Intermittently?

Intermittent fasting is when you don’t eat for 16 hours on end then have the “perfect meal”.

The perfect meal consists of high fat, medium protein and low carbs to get your body to start burning fat in a ketogenic way.

Most people take their 16 hours by stopping their eating at 10:00pm and start eating again at 2:00pm.  Other people prefer to stop eating at 8:00pm and just eat lunch at 12:00pm.  Either way you’ll be without food for 12 hours which will purge the glycogen from your liver.  With the glycogen purged you’ll start burning fat.  Another thing that will happen while you are fasting is called “atrophagy” in which your healthy cells start to eat the sick sells.
